HEAR YE, HEAR YE,

Our 50^th Celebration of the Independence Day of the United States of American is being held on Sunday, July 4th with an extended hour (8 am to 1 pm) on the grounds of the “Cervecería” (Florida Ice & Farm) at the Intel exit on the highway to the Juan Santamaría Airport.

This is an “old fashioned‟ picnic with lots of hot dogs, beer, soft drinks, plenty of games for children of all ages, a concert of patriotic USA music, and much more. It is an opportunity for US citizens & their families to celebrate the birthday of their country, thrill to the Marines raising “Old Glory” and hear the national anthems of the United States of America and Costa Rica played by the University of Costa Rica Symphonic Band.

We would like to invite you to become a 4^th of July Picnic Patron for the Celebration by making a modest contribution of $300 or the amount you are able to contribute this year. A company patron may invite two executives and their immediate families (spouse and children) to the picnic. They will receive a VIP courtesy entry pass and complimentary, secure parking at the entrance.

Patrons will also have their company logo or individual name appear:

• On banners to be displayed in different locations throughout the picnic grounds
• In the Tico Times Special Picnic Program (distribution of 8,000)
• On the American Colony web page at www.americancolonycr.com.

One of our committee members will call you to answer any questions you may have.

In past years, this has always been a free event paid for by the generosity and patriotism of the US business community in Costa Rica, as well as other firms with close ties to the US. But due to increased attendance and escalating cost, we will be collecting a small entrance fee at the gate that goes toward covering expenses. Please note that we do not receive any USA government funding. With a staff of more than 400 volunteers, we expect over 4,000 celebrants for this year’s event.

We respectfully ask that you take a moment, right now, to authorize your check, payable to the Asoc. Comité de la Colonia Americana de Costa Rica. You may call 2288-4850 or email info@americancolonycr.com and a messenger will be sent to your office with a receipt for your contribution. If you wish to deposit directly in our bank account, please call for details.
